Child Custody and Visitation

Custody and visitation plans are an area where one size does not fit all.  Every family and every child is unique.  While going through a divorce it is easy for some parents to confuse their own best interests with their children’s interests.  It is always best to keep the children foremost in your thoughts and make their transition as easy as possible.  The Courts will look to see which parent is most willing to foster the child’s relationship with the other parent.  Custody determinations are based on the “best interests of the children” and the process of working out a custody and visitation plan takes careful thought and detail.

Before leaving a custody decision to a judge, it is important to remember that you are the in best position to make these decisions that will affect your children for a lifetime.  My job is to provide information and guidance so that you can make your decision thoughtfully, and to help you draft a detailed plan which will work for your children in the future.
